They said the wheel retention system worked and once they realised the problem from data and Kimi confirming it, they immediately told him to stop. So FIA accepted it and no penalty.
At least some luck for Kimi in the end. =\

Maybe, I don't think Kimi should be penalised further, he already got a DNF, he personally, nor Ferrari get the points, thats a lot of money. For me thats punishment enough for fucking it all up.

I agree. Any penalty should be on the Ferrari team, not the driver. But Ferrari was never getting penalized. Maybe if it was Sahara Force India. . .
